[SOLVED] -Cable Counter data lag

We’re using the cable counter and recently we noticed that the data being displayed by the OV-CC.exe app has a several second delay between when the encoder wheel is rotated and when the data in the program is updated.

If we connect using the OV-CCSC.exe program we see the string updating in real time and if we connect to the COM port using hyperterminal we also see the data sting updating in real time.

Below is a link to a video showing this. In this clip we rotated the encoder wheel approx one full revolution in the first 5-10 seconds of the clip. 20 seconds later the distance display had not updated with the current cable payout. I also don’t remember the data string scrolling in the coms display window so slowly like it is now.

Cable counter lag

Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Disregard the above message. I just figured out the problem. I needed to add the STARTCHAR ‘{’ and STOPCHAR ‘}’ with the String config program. It now appears to be working normally.

Good to hear you were able to sort it out.
